Reset WinSock and IPv4 Stack

Sometimes resetting the WinSock and IPv4 Stack settings can fix some deeper networking issues inside Windows.

1. Open an Administrative Command Prompt and type:
netsh winsock reset

2. The prompt should display the following message once the reset is complete.

Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog.
You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.


3. Reboot the computer.

4. If you are still unable to access the Internet, open another Administrative Command Prompt and type:

netsh int ipv4 reset

5. The following should be displayed once the reset is complete.

Resetting Global, OK!
Resetting Interface, OK!
Resetting Unicast Address, OK!
Resetting Neighbor, OK!
Resetting Path, OK!
Resetting , failed.
Access is denied.

Resetting , OK!
Restart the computer to complete this action.


6. Reboot the computer again after completion.
