Main Google Drive Features

What are the main Google Drive Features?

Google Drive is a web platform where you can safely save your files, edit online when needed and share with other people.  You can also edit a file with other people simultaneously using the collaboration features of the Drive. Another big advantage is the ability to reach your documents anywhere and any time you need. All files are saved on the “cloud” on Google servers so that you actually backup your local files too. In a hard disk crash, your files will be safe and reachable by using just a browser. It is also possible to sync the files on your computer with the Drive using a small application.

Currently, Google Drive is free for up to 5GB of files you upload. Let me emphasize that the files you create on Drive directly do not count on the space. This limit is just for the files you upload. You can buy extra space if needed (for the files you upload)

You can store any file type you want. There are also many Google apps which enable you to edit them online just by using a browser. Your file can be an Office document, mp3 file, pdf, video or any other 3rd party file. All are allowed in Drive to be stored.
