Login to Windows 10

Explains how to get logged in Windows 10

LOCK SCREEN VERSUS LOG-IN SCREEN

Once you turn on your computer the first thing you see is your Lock Screen. This is the image that appear on your screen when your computer is ‘asleep’. Once you get past the Lock Screen you get to your Log-In Screen which regulates access to your device.

After you have started your computer, this is what the Lock Screen may look like. You might have a different background and the current date and time, with maybe an icon or two that shows you whether your Internet connection is working, or how many unopened emails await. Click here to see how to change this picture.

TO GET PAST THE LOCK SCREEN AND MOVE TO THE LOG-IN SCREEN YOU MUST DO ANY OF THESE THINGS

  • Click anywhere on the screen with your mouse
  • Click any key on your keyboard
  • If you have a touch screen, simply swipe a finger upward.

Go ahead and type your password if your name is visible. If the name in the center is not you, look to the bottom left and see if your name is there. If not, Click on Other User to login.
